"Having worked for some time as a voluntary teaching assistant, I decided in the Autumn of 2009 to undertake a NVQ level 3 in Children's Care, Learning and Development. The course turned out to be a double qualification with the NVQ running in parallel to a Technical Certificate. I found the course extremely interesting and informative. Both Joy, my Tutor at Side by Side Training and Julie, my NVQ Assessor at Side by Side Training were helpful and encouraging. At the end of the Summer Term of 2010 I passed my NVQ 3 and achieved a 'Grade A' pass for my Technical Certificate.
Having undertaken no formal education for over 20 years, this achievement boosted both my self esteem and employment potential. I am now completing my first year of employment as a Learning Assistant at a local school, where I have acheived Cover Supervisor status and regularly supervise classes in the absence of the Class Teacher. I thoroughly enjoyed my experience with Joy and the team at Side by Side Training and would recommend them to anyone considering undertaking a qualification to support their career in Early Years Childcare Practice."

We took on a 17 year old apprentice from Side by Side Training in September 2010. We have been delighted with her and her level of commitment to our group. She has become a valued member of staff and shows great potential, so much so that now she has finished her course we have asked that she remain as a permanent member of staff.
